July 20–One year ago Robbins Brothers launched its new television advertising campaign which features couples’ real-life marriage proposals from YouTube, set to the hit Donavon Frakenreiter song “Lovely Day.” In celebration of the milestone, the company invites all lovebirds to share their marriage proposal video for a chance to win $500 and also star in a future TV commercial (the top three videos will win the $500 prize). Manuel Banda lives in Dallas, Texas. Here is his Romantic Wish:

I was in Rome this past summer as part of a study abroad program with my university. Leaving the usually busy Piazza del Popolo near midnight, I hear a violinist start to play in the distance. A man knelt at the bottom of the stairs in the center of the piazza looking up at, who I assume was, his girlfriend and opened a small box. She threw her hands in her face, then around his neck, kissed him for a long time and finally shared a slow dance with him. This is the most romantic moment I have ever seen; it was as if the piazza and city knew what was taking place and paused momentarily for them. I wish to recreate it, but now I want to be at the bottom of the steps looking up at my girlfriend instead of being a bystander.

Pele Woods is from Hinesville, Georgia. Here’s her Romantic Wish:

The love of my life is a Army man and a beautiful human being. My ultimate wish is to be able to propose to “him” while on a romantic trip. I know how much he loves me but I would love to be the one to pop the question and go the whole nine for him for once. He deserves it. We’ve known each other since high school and he’s still the same sweet person now as he was then. I love him.

Lauren Dixon lives in Austin, Texas. Here’s her Romantic Wish:

The person who has been by my side through happiness and hardship is my prince charming. My devoted boyfriend has not given up on me during tough times. When my mother died of cancer two years ago, I felt a piece of my heart break off and I never imagined I would be able to feel truly happy again, until my amazing boyfriend reminded me of her strength and love. He allowed me to see the light in a dark situation when he told me he wanted to grow old with me just as my dad did with my mother. My romantic wish is to be as happy and in love as my parents were until the day she died. I wish I could live long enough to have a faithful marriage, see my children grow up and fall in love, and be able to watch it all with the person I have spent the last seven years of my life with. I want my mother’s unconditional love to live on through my relationship.

Elliott McKenzie lives in Cerritos, California. Here is his Romantic Wish:

For basically my entire life, I’ve been envisioning what my future wife would be like. I imagined everything from her smile to the things we would do together, to the amazing way our bond would create an everlasting love that would keep us together forever. You see, I’m a dreamer. I’ve always known what I wanted for my future from the time I was a young boy. Now, as crazy to me as it seems, at the age of 25, I truly believe I have finally found the woman I’ve always dreamed of. We met just over a month ago and it’s been heaven ever since. A true romantic fantasy come to life! She’s everything I could imagine and more! The only problem is I work part-time and can’t afford to do the things I feel she deserves from me. The things a man should be able to do for the woman he loves. My romantic wish would be to be able to pamper her and treat her like the queen she is. I want to be able to do the things that she does for me on a daily basis.

Jacy Penrose lives in San Diego, California. Here’s her Romantic Wish:

We are 19 and 18 and have been together for a year. I’ve always thought he was perfect, not only the blanket that covers me and keeps me warm, but the sunshine that wraps around me and never fades. Three days after our first date, we both knew we loved each other and after a month, we knew we wanted to get married someday. I know we are young but I disagree with any thought that an 18 year-old heart is not in love, but infatuated. Corey’s parents married at this age and have 4 children. They’re the happiest most beautiful couple I’ve ever witnessed. I believe if it’s right, you know it, even when everyone else thinks you’re wrong.

Corey promised we’ll be engaged by the end of this year. As time goes by and money for a ring and doubtful others get in the way, we become discouraged though our relationship never falters. We want the same life: 4 kids, beautiful home, to travel & have adventures, jobs we love, and the chance to prove that love chooses us. I want to somehow make our dreams come true and to afford all the romantic possibilities of life together.

Lauren Jacobsen lives in Dallas, Texas. Here’s her Romantic Wish:

Ring. Ring. Ring.

There goes the telephone again. When will it ever be a soft good morning whispered in the ear instead of the cold, electronic sounds of a standard ringtone? It has been months since we have seen one another’s face, but such is the life of broke college students living in different cities, each chasing their own dream. In the short breaks from our academia, we can trust that the other is waiting, but those breaks are few and far between.

Our wish comes in the form of a dream, one that reoccurs nightly. A dream of escaping student debts and societal pressures. We yearn to travel and experience what this world has to offer us. Young American Muslims are not meant to fall in love, but rather are destined to cold, arranged marriages, right? Wrong. The love of my fiance, despite the distance, debt, and disapproval is worth waking up to the electronic sounds. Our dream of escaping these disadvantages of our current situation gets us through the exams, bills, and incessant reminders from society that there is no such thing as an American Muslim, and much less two that are madly in love.

Robbins Brothers helps couple win romantic getaway for Wedding AnniversaryWorld’s Biggest Engagement Ring Store® helps couple win romantic getaway for Wedding Anniversary

It all began when a thoughtful husband, Sem Avena of Moreno Valley, marked his territory on the Robbins Brothers Lovetopia map. This February promotion allowed website visitors to share their most romantic memories including the first date, first kiss, wedding location or the place where the couple became engaged. All entrants qualified to win a Simon G designer diamond pendant and a romantic getaway grand prize valued at $2,500. Sem mapped the Palm Desert Civic Park, the location where he and his wife Aileen shared their first high school date. To his surprise, Sem received a phone call from Robbins Brothers notifying him that in a random drawing he had been chosen as the grand prize winner.

Sem shared the good news with Aileen by emailing her the Lovetopia winner’s page. He told her that someone they knew had won the contest. As soon as she clicked on the link and realized it was their submission she was ecstatic.

Employees of the Robbins Brothers Riverside store wanted to present Sem’s prize to him in style so they selected a Hawaiian theme for the soiree. On Sunday, April 6, upon the couple’s store arrival they were shocked to see leis, balloons, and cider to celebrate the happy occasion. Store associates presented the gift certificate to Sem which comes just in time for the couple’s one-year anniversary celebration in June.

The Robbins Brothers Concierge Service will help plan all the details of the trip from airfare, hotel accommodations to other vacation-related activities. Once the Avenas determine the destination of choice the planning will begin.

“Wow, this is very exciting for us! We were not expecting this type of presentation at all, not on this level,” comments Sem. Heidi Hafker, customer service manager reveals, “It was so much fun planning this day. We really wanted to make it special for Sem and Eileen and the gratitude they expressed is priceless. What an awesome feeling to know that we helped create a special memory in the couple’s life.”
